It’s funny what interests people on the internet. One of the most popular things on my website is my program for extracting JPG files from MPO files. I originally wrote it when I heard about the release of Fuji’s first 3D digital camera – more as a programming exercise than anything else. I just bashed it out without too much thought, and no optimisation, assuming that there were probably other, better, programs out there.
Anyway, lots of people have downloaded my program, and someone even emailed me to tell me it was easier to use than Fuji’s own version! People emailed me to suggest several improvements too, so I’ve finally got round to releasing version v0.2!!
So, this version will now work with MPO files which contain more than two images. Apparently these are a thing. If there are two images, it labels them left and right, but if there are more than two, it just numbers them sequentially.
Also, I’ve optimised the code a bit, so it now runs between two to three times faster, depending on the file.
There are some other minor improvements too.
